Social Climbing Nights
Every Wednesday in the Summer at local Whitehorse crags.
Mountaineering
Clinics and Courses on the various skills to safely bag glaciated peaks in the territory.
Ice Towers and Wild Ice
Regular sessions in the winter at the Equinox Ice Towers at Sima and regular trips to real ice crags.
Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival
Two evenings of amazing, hand picked mountain films to get the community’s stoke up in the shoulder season!
Summer Rocks
Volunteer and guide-led instructional days to advance the rock climbing community’s skills.
Leadership
ACC Yukon is proud to be a local leader on a number of initiatives
Stewardship & Access
With the territory’s population growing rapidly and our unique land management landscape, we want to begin building respectful relationships with all land managers, particularly First Nations. It’s important that we as recreationists represent sustainable recreation and show land managers that our presence is value-added on the land. To this effect, ACC Yukon acts as a strong advocate for mountain recreationists in the territory.
Reconciliation
As part of our effort to build relationships with First Nations, we have begun offering First Nations specific programming. In Summer 2023, we obtained funding from Lotteries Yukon to provide climbing days for the Ta’an Kwach’an Youth Summer Camp, where we were able to show TKC youth how we connect with their beautiful territory in a sustainable manner.
We hope to provide more programming like this to any interested Yukon First Nation in the future.
Club Hut
With feedback from the Community Survey, the club is seeking to develop a backcountry hut for members and the public, to support human-powered recreation deeper into our beautiful wilderness. This initiative is early-stages and a committee has been formed to determine possible locations and barriers. Backcountry skiing, hiking, and mountaineering will be the main focus.
